Arrowhead Spring Reserve Meritage Wine
The Arrowhead Meritage Reserve has hints of eucalyptus, minerality, and black currant show on the nose of this Niagara Escarpment Bordeaux-style blend. Big, veiny tannins ripple on a chalky skeleton that shows through the long finish. Medium bodied and pleasantly juicy up front, the palate brings an array of black and red fruits with well-incorporated, balanced toasty oak notes, a light sprinkling of black pepper and just a drizzle of that maple character.
This Meritage Reserve wine will age gracefully for several years and pair beautifully with wild boar ragu, bison, or other game meats. A blend of 41% Cabernet Franc, 39% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot, this wine has been aged for 23 months in French, Eastern European and American oak barrels.
The Arrowhead Spring Vineyard and Winery is located in the Niagara Escarpment American Viticultural Area wine-growing region. The hills that support the vines slope from South-East to North-West, giving them very warm afternoon sun exposure across the entire vineyard.
