Robert Burns Day Scotch Dinner at Coco Bar & Bistro
The great poet Robert Burns once wrote, “Green grow the rashes, O; Green grow the rashes, O; The sweetest hours that e’er I spend Are spent among the lasses, O”. I don’t know what that means. What’s important is that this celebrated man lives on through annual Burns Night dinners all over the world, and we happened to have our very own with the delightful human beings at Coco Bar & Bistro. There was much revelry, and lots of Compass Box Scotch, all rounded out by poetry readings, bag pipe playing, and enthusiastic singing. It was a night to remember not only for these reasons, but also for the plaid tablecloths and napkins. Check them out in the gallery below.
Northeastern Italian Wine Dinner at Ristorante Lombardo
Continuing our trend of jam-packed events in the month of January, Gates Circle was pleased to take part in a wine dinner at Hertel Avenue staple Ristorante Lombardo. A fantastic menu coupled with fantastic wines is always a beautiful thing, and Lombardo has been doing it for years. We greatly appreciated our time there and can’t wait to go back! If you weren’t able to join us, please take a moment to check out the photos below, which are approximately 25% as delicious and 15% as fun as having actually attended the event.
French Wine Dinner at Webster’s Bistro & Bar
We can’t begin to describe how much fun we had at Webster’s Bistro & Bar sharing amazingly prepared meals and excellent wine with our regulars and a lot of new faces as well! This event was so successful, we had to add a second date, which the fine people of WNY have already sold out! If you’ve ever been a fan of French cuisine, Webster’s Bistro & Bar belongs at the top of your list. Special thanks to Kevin from Winebow for keeping the crowd up to date on the amazing wines we got to experience, like the fantastic Verget Macon-Villages and exceptional Chateau de Montfaucon.
Uruguay Wine Dinner at Coco Bar & Bistro
We couldn’t be more happy with our wine dinner with Pablo Fallabrino, co-owner and winemaker of Vinedo de los Vientos. He spoke passionately and elegantly about his family’s winemaking heritage and the incredible things they’re able to do in Uruguay with varietals traditionally cultivated in France and Italy. It was also an excuse to dine on more of Coco Bar & Bistro’s exceptional cuisine, which paired fantastically with two of our staff’s longtime favorites, Eolo Tannat and Vinedo de los Vientos Alcyone Tannat Dessert Wine.
