Carlisle Sonoma Zinfandel Wine
Carlisle Sonoma Zinfandel is a medium to medium-dark ruby-garnet wine. A compelling bouquet of cherries, red currants, lilac, and underbrush greets the nose. The wine is succulent and supple on entry, with flavors of raspberries and cherry that coat the palate. The wine is persisting through the spice-laden finish.
Some of the Sonoma County Zinfandels have required time in bottle to be at their best: This rendition will be ready on release.
The grapes are handpicked from different vineyards, such as 39% Russian River Valley in the Lingenfelder Vineyard, 36% Sonoma Valley in the Rossi Ranch, 11% Sonoma Valley in the Monte Rosso Vineyard, and 14% Dry Creek Valley Petite Sirah in the Teldeschi Ranch.
Carlisle Winery & Vineyards is a small Sonoma County winery specializing in the production of old vine - vineyards designated Zinfandels and red Rhone varieties. While they like their wines to be bold and intensely flavored, each reflecting its vintage and vineyard, they also strive to create wines of balance, complexity, and nuance. Their goal is always the same: grow and source outstanding fruit, do as little as possible to it, and bottle outstanding, pleasurable wine at the fairest price possible.
