Carlisle Sonoma Count Zinfandel Papera Ranch Wine
Strapping and sensational, Carlisle Sonoma Count Zinfandel Papera Ranch is a medium-dark and rub-garnet in color. Red fruits, from raspberry and strawberry to cranberry, dominate the nose and carry onto the full and rich palate. A hint of blood orange and silky tannins appear mid-palate.
The grapes were picked at the beginning of October and cold soaked for five days before a local yeast fermentation began. After 16 days on the skins, it was pressed into French oak (25% new). No fining or filtration took place before bottling.
Carlisle Winery & Vineyards is a small Sonoma County winery specializing in the production of old vine - vineyards designated Zinfandels and red Rhone varieties. While they like their wines to be bold and intensely flavored, each reflecting its vintage and vineyard, they also strive to create wines of balance, complexity, and nuance. Their goal is always the same: grow and source outstanding fruit, do as little as possible to it, and bottle outstanding, pleasurable wine at the fairest price possible.
