Bedrock Heritage Red Wine
Bedrock Heritage Red is made from 22 different varietals from which the vines were planted 123 years ago. Dominated by Zinfandel the remaining 40% of the wine is Carignane, Petite Sirah, Alicante Bouschet, Grand Noir de la Calmette, Syrah, Tempranillo, Trousseau, Mission, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and many others. The grapes are hand pitch-forked into the destemmer, fermented in open top redwood and stainless vats using only native yeasts. Heritage Red is medium red violet color; pepper, lavender, tar nose; peppery fruit is in the lead followed by plums and cloves.
Suggested food pairing: Pasta in red sauce, roasted vegetables, and steak.
Bedrock Wine Co was founded in 2007 in a 550 square-feet with the mission of staying ahead of the curve and keeping their customers' palates interested and challenged. The winery started on a former chicken coop with 8 foot ceilings and no fermentation space. Six years later they are producing a wildly successful line of wines but still share the same objectives that guided the winery at the start.
